Music Ministries

Music has been a dynamic function of the worship experience at First Reformed. As such, there are several opportunities to become involved and share the experience and fellowship.

Senior Choir has an ongoing and continuous ministry since 1969. Recently the choir has involved up to 30 members. Senior Choir has as their mission to enhance and promote the worship of God and to always honor Him. A significant aspect of that mission is to be a part of the worship service two Sundays per month.

In addition, the Choir is a major part of a Christmas and spring concert. These concerts are always very well attended and reach out to the extended community as well. Members of the choir enjoy the experience of using their talents to honor God, as well as fun and fellowship. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 8:00 pm, September to May.

Praise team is a group who provides the leadership and inspiration for the second service which is contemporary. This group offers opportunities to sing, or play an instrument. Their mission is to enhance and promote worship and praise and honor God.

Power of Praise is another ministry of First Reformed. This is a male quartet and female accompanist who sing at various events and services around the region. They have been part of the concert venue for the Mitchell Area Concert Association twice.

Their mission is to praise God and honor Him with a variety of music styles, and through the spoken word. Power of Praise also has produced a recording.

They may be contacted by calling the church office. Funds derived from appearances and CD sales are shared with various charitable groups.

First Reformed is also blessed with a number of fine keyboard musicians who play for the services and accompany various ensembles and individuals. All participants in the music ministries freely donate their time and talents to honor and praise God.
