Ministries
Love Feast
First Reformed Church has participated in the Love Feast Ministry of
First United Methodist Church every year since 1999. This program provides
a community gathering and meal two nights each month for low income families
and persons in need throughout Mitchell and the area.
With assistance from the Methodist Church’s Love Feast Task Force,
participating churches provide ingredients and door prizes, and enjoy
preparing and serving a meal for approximately 350+ guests and shut-ins.
Habitat for Humanity
A number of members of First Reformed Church are involved on the board
of directors and several committees with Habitat for Humanity. With
considerable help of others in the community, the Mitchell
regional Habitat group received formal affiliation with Habitat for Humanity International
in
March 2001.
Ground was broken in Spring of 2002, and construction is finished
on the first home. The process has since been completed on the second home
as well!
We look forward to continued growth through participation by our members,
and seeing the spiritual growth that can come from serving others.
Fellowship Events
Throughout the year many events take place at First Reformed Church.
Food, Fellowship and Fun join the family of God closer together. Please
join us as we gather together for the:
- Spring Banquet
- Ice Cream Social
- Soup Supper
- Kickoff Sunday BBQ
- Potlucks
- And any other excuse to get together!
